This is our focus here at Thomas Brown Engineering. We conform to ISO9001:2000 and have achieved this standard for many years. We also recognise the importance of reliability to our customers and try to respond to this need by reacting quickly to customers' queries and working hard with our customers to solve any problems. We seek our customers' comments on our delivery performance in our customer satisfaction survey and were pleased to see that in 2008, 100% of our customer base rated our performance in this area as excellent, good or satisfactory.

We like to look to the future in all things at Thomas Brown Engineering. We continually look to new technologies and advancements in tooling to improve our quality and streamline our daily procedures. We work to the principles of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement and have used these models, especially over the last 5 years, as a framework to bring about huge improvements and advancements within our organisation. It is these principles and ways of working that allows us to offer a competitive priced service to our customers whilst not compromising on any aspect of quality or service.

Environmental Policy

Thomas Brown Engineering Ltd is aware that many of the activities undertaken in the course of its business will have an impact on the environment in some way. We are committed to identifying the effect of our business activities on the environment and working to limit these.

We constantly look to improve our performance in this area. These are the measures we currently take:

  • We fully comply with all relevant environmental legislation.
  • We re-use all packaging materials where possible. Recycle that which is unsuitable to be re-used.
  • We recycle, where possible, waste paper including envelopes. Re-use shredded paper as packing material.
  • We ensure that any hazardous waste is disposed of by a competent, regulated authority.
  • We utilise email and Internet facilities for accounts purposes wherever possible to reduce paper correspondence.
  • We encourage and provide facilities to recycle packaging and glass in the employee canteen area.
  • We separate and recycle all our waste metal.
  • We have recorded maintenance schedules on CNC machinery to ensure efficient running and minimise use of electricity.
  • The economic advantages of consciously improving our environmental performance are more than clear to us and fit perfectly with our work towards becoming a leaner and cleaner organisation.
  • This policy will be made available to all members of staff, customers and suppliers through our web-site.
  • This policy will be updated annually.
